Conference:
Good Faith in Contract
May 11, 2018
Montreal, Québec
The Common Law Group at the Université de Montréal will hold a conference dedicated to exploring the concept of “good faith” in contract law. Using the Supreme Court of Canada’s in Bhasin v. Hrynew, the conference seeks to bring together scholars from around the Commonwealth to examine the circumstances under which a principle of good faith, or alternatively a “duty of honest performance,” may be inplied in contract law. We seek papers or panels devoted to all aspects of this question. We are especially interested in comparative approaches or papers which outline solutions to the problem in the other Commonwealth jurisdictions.
The conference papers will be published in inaugural issue of the Journal of Commonwealth Law, a new journal devoted to exploring comparative approaches law in the Commonwealth.
Abstracts should be no more than 500 words and include a CV. In addition to established scholars, newer scholars are especially welcome to participate.
The deadline for proposals is 1 December 2017.
Regrettably, the organisers do not have funding for travel costs at this time.
Proposals may be submitted to:
